tbh I don't think it'll be that weird. aprilia was a plausible contender in 2022, it's a few years now since they were the absolute joke team, and it's not historically unprecedented for a champion to have a sharp drop off in competitiveness the following season. most recent examples being... well, marc obviously but that doesn't really count, then hayden 2007 when honda made a bike blatantly unsuited for him, and kr jr in 2001 when suzuki just went back to sucking.
